In an effort t to save £22 million per year BA is scrapping meals on flights less than 2.5 hours that depart after 10am.
The cut backs will only apply to economy class travellers departing from the UK. The airliner will continue to offer normal breakfast meals up until 10 am but the smaller meals, typically of a sandwich and peanuts, will go as of next week.
British Airways customer research showed that customers still value the breakfast meal unlike the small lunch time meal later in the day. Unlike BA’s rival, such as Ryan Air, they will not be offering a substitute paid for meal.
