![]() Group Aircraft CharterContrary to what many people might think, air charter is surprisingly affordable and becoming more so all the time as a direct result of increased popularity. The most cost-effective way to charter an aircraft for more than one day is to try and have it remain with you at your destination. There will be a charge for overnight parking and crew accommodation, but this is much less than having the aircraft make two return journeys to collect you. Usually, the most an aircraft will stay will be two or three nights. It is possible to charter any aircraft, from a four-seater to a Boeing 747 Jumbo. The most economically-sized planes for groups travelling domestically, or within Western Europe, are those carrying up to four, up to eight, up to 19 then up to 29, 34 and 42. The next jumps are around 70 then 120. For large intercontinental routes the sizes tend to be VIP-configured airliners. Some aircraft that you would recognize as holiday jets, such as the Boeing 737 and 757, or Airbus 319, have been totally reconfigured as VIP aircraft, so rather than carrying 150 passengers they carry 30 or 40 in total luxury. Some of these aircraft have separate bedrooms and showers. Roughly speaking, the ratio of flight attendants to passengers on scheduled airline is 1:35. On private aircraft it can be as low as 1:1. Private jets, especially the larger ones, fly much higher than commercial airliners and therefore enjoy a smoother ride. Air Charter : Air Charter Services :
